Drilltronics Rig Systems as

Drilltronics Rig Systems as is providing a drilling control system which at the rig site assists the drilling crew by making sure that drilling incidents are minimizeed at any time.

 
IRIS AS (International Research Institute of Stavanger)  has over the past 20 years been developing a number of advanced models and software applications for drilling operations. The results from this extensive research represents considerable values which have not yet been utilised fully.
The Drilltronics concept improves existing models and integrates them into a single-real time applications.
The concept has generated considerable interest from the industry and has so far been funded with NOK 50 Milll from Oil companies and Demo 2000.
National Oilwell has been chosen as partner for development and commercialisation of Drilltronics – Rig Systems.

National Oilwell is the worlds largerst player within rig control systems with 15.000 employees and USD 5 billions in revenue.
The technology has been tested at the IRIS full scale test rig Ullrig, and will pilot installed on a North Sea field later in 2007.
